Design Requirements

Located on a sloping landscape, this private residence needed to accommodate a young family of four with two adults working from home. The property offered beautiful mountain views. Environmental sustainability was a key concern for this project.

Solution

The spatial subdivision seamlessly separated the sleeping quarters from the public spaces within the house. Two separate office/studios were provided on two separate levels to allow for privacy. Building openings and extrusions were oriented towards the mountains to take advantage of the views. The materiality and form of this residence integrated Passive House strategies and high-energy window and louver performance, two crucial aspects in the conception of this house.
