Design Requirements

This project was an Alpine-inspired four-storey contemporary development with 16 new condo units. The property was nestled into the hillside, once a silver mine, with stunning views towards the Monashee Mountains range.

Solution

The architecture of this project drew from the industrial, residential and institutional vernacular of the region. The contemporary elevations were reflected in clean simple lines of wood, corrugated metal decks and balconies, and vibrantly coloured metal panels. The project’s mountain feel was accentuated by a unique combination of textures and oversized black windows, all of which created a compelling, durable structure addressing well its mountain slope location.
